The Personnel Security Specialist assists with the management and operations of the AOC Personnel Security Program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The Personnel Security Specialist I performs security intake processing by receiving, reviewing, analyzing, and processing personnel security forms.
- Monitors the AOC centralized portal system daily to track the status of applicant requests for congressional credentials, background investigations, and federal drug testing.
- Schedules pre-employment drug tests.
- The Personnel Security Specialist shall perform data entry duties pertaining to the personnel security processes.
- Performs administrative management functions for congressional credential management.
- Processes requests for additional information on security packages and follows up on correspondence received.
- The Personnel Security Specialist I shall answer general security processing inquiries and forward complex inquiries to the appropriate Personnel Security Specialist.
- Shall provide technical assistance to applicants completing their congressional security forms.
- Prepare memoranda, reports, and other reference documents.
- Advise the Personnel Security Specialist when a candidate has failed to provide the requested information.
- The Personnel Security Specialist I shall provide the necessary research, information gathering, reviewing, analyzing, and compiling pertinent personnel security information into a case summary.
- Properly safeguarding sensitive information to include, but not limited to, Privacy Act Protected Information, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and Classified National Security Information.
- Assist in any other personnel security duties, special projects, as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
Minimum/General Experience:
- The Personnel Security Specialist I must have a current Top Secret personnel security clearance and the ability to maintain such clearance throughout the life of the contract.
- Minimum of two (2), preferably four (4), years of experience in Personnel Security.
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma
