Personal Injury & Sexual Assault Attorney
Notes:
The ideal candidate will be a former state attorney or public defender with
a few years of experience.
They will feel comfortable in the courtroom and/or taking depositions.
I will mentor them but I also cannot hand hold them. I am looking for
them to start sometime between November and January in a perfect setting
Experience – pi or experience with other areas and she can train on PI
specifically. A prosecutor or state attorney or public defender,
comfortable in a courtroom, workflow and confidence. She likes trying
cases
Potentially a defense attorney who wants to switch to the side, could.
Currently all female team open to a man.
On-Site or Remote: This employer is flexible on your work location
provided you are able to make the few cases (1-2 x a month) that are not
done on video calls. They have team members in the office 1-3 days a
week so it can be beneficial to be in with the team or with the Lead
Attorney for mentoring, but this can be fully remote for the right
individual.
Schedule: Weekdays full time
Team Size: 2 Paralegals who are experienced and great to work with
2 Legal Assistants
2 part-timers
1 Associate Attorney
1 Attorney/Firm Owner
Job Duty Summary:
- Traditional Associate Attorney duties focusing on litigation for
Personal Injury, Sexual Assault and Medical Malpractice cases
working on behalf of plaintiffs.
- Supporting on cases and bringing in new cases as you progress.
- Drafting documents and taking depositions (there can be specific
training on effective depositions if that benefits you)
- Tracking of your hours on projects: There are 2 reasons for this.
First there will be discretionary bonuses based on major
contributions to firm cases. Also, this data helps to identify
training opportunities for items that may not progress as fast as
you’d like. This can make you more effective long-term.
- The intention is that this attorney will be able to handle the
process from start to finish eventually, finding and developing the
case, file a lawsuit , discovery, depo, schedule a trial, trial,
etc.
Volume of Work:
Specializations: Case Mix – Litigation. 50% Sexual Assault, the rest is
Personal Injury as well as Auto, nursing home
Team Based duties: This role will work as part of a small team of
attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants. The paralegals can be a
great resource in terms of development and achieving day to day goals.
This is a small firm so raising your hand to handle a task on cases or
with day-to-day firm duties is appreciated and valued.

Training and Development: Mentoring – This leader will mentor for
specializations and depos as they are well versed and is invested in

potential through this mentoring process and someone who is part of the
team will certainly get back what they contribute here. Also, they are
willing to pay for depo college or trauma informed training if need be.
The founding attorney is a great mentor and compassionate leader.
Pay Summary:
Min Salary: $80,000 Max Salary: $110,000 (Could go to $110K for personal
Injury experience)
Bonuses: Discretionary Bonus on shared cases with notable hours invested
relative to the case. Associate Attorneys get 25% bonus on business they
bring in.
Autonomous cases (originally brought in by the firm) can come with a %
bonus

- Closed on all Palm Beach County court closed days (About 16 days),
as well as Christmas to NYE off, plus two weeks vacation

Qualifications
Qualifications (Minimum and preferred):
Years of Experience: 1-5
Specialized experience: Ideally experience with Personal Injury, Sexual
Assault, Medical Malpractice or other areas of law. Some of the
specialized cases they can train you on.
Prior Duties: Associate attorney experience, State Attorney, Public
Defender or Prosecutor, Open to plaintiff or defense experience. Seeking
someone who is comfortable in a court room. Does not need first or
second chair experience.
Certifications: Florida Bar
Personality factors: A self starter and goal oriented person. This team
is looking for someone who will be a part of a healthy culture so
someone who wants to be a part of a team and knows how to contribute and
support the rest of the team. Seeking someone who can hit the ground
running or is open to being developed in areas where training and
mentoring is needed.
Ideal Candidate Features: Self Starter and critical thinker. Perfect
