Job Description

A personal injury attorney's job is to help clients who have been injured through the negligence of another party. Their responsibilities include:

• Legal advice: Providing legal advice to clients
• Filing complaints: Filing legal complaints on behalf of clients
• Preparing documents: Preparing legal documents for clients
• Representing clients in court: Representing clients in court
• Gathering evidence: Gathering evidence to support the client's claim, such as medical records, accident reports, and witness statements
• Building a case: Working with experts to build a case that proves the other party's negligence

Personal Injury Attorney

Pay Rate: $110 000-129 999

• This is a full-time, on-site role for an Associate Attorney who will represent personal injury clients in New York.
• Handle a caseload, attend court, negotiate settlements, oversee trial preparation, conduct trials, and attend meditations and arbitrations
• Advise clients of claim liability and legal rights and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations.
• Conduct depositions and respond to discovery demands
• Ability to conduct discovery and draft motions
• Gather evidence to initiate and support legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of the case
• Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for the presentation of cases
• Gather evidence to initiate and support legal actions, evaluate findings, and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for the presentation of cases, and update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of plaintiff’s personal injury experience.
• Trial experience is a plus.
• The ability to speak Spanish is a plus but not required.
• Must possess a license to practice law in New York State.
