The Dock Experts, LLC is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and hardworking Permit Expediter to join our dynamic team. As a Permit Expediter, you will be responsible for managing the permitting process, coordinating inspections, and ensuring projects move seamlessly through regulatory requirements. This role demands excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills. You'll serve as a vital link between the company, subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.

We specialize in demolition, construction, installation, and maintenance of seawalls, docks, boat lifts, and dock accessories. - Permit Administration & Coordination:
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all permit activity, including status, dates, and required next steps.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and regulatory agencies during inspections.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential procedural delays to keep projects on schedule.
- Inspection Scheduling & Tracking:
- Coordinate and schedule inspections with management, subcontractors, and project managers.
- Track survey results and facilitate next steps with municipalities.
- Communicate day-of timing for inspections with all relevant parties.
- Maintain up-to-date contact information for inspectors.
- Survey Coordination:
- Coordinate with survey companies for scheduling and approval of surveys (e.g., building location and as-built surveys).
- Submit surveys to municipalities to meet inspection requirements.
- Pile Log & Engineer Letters:
- Monitor pile placement schedules and ensure timely ordering of pile logs and engineering letters.
- Submit pile logs and engineer letters to municipalities to meet inspection requirements.
- Permit Running & Delivery:
- Submit and retrieve permits from municipalities, ensuring all updates are tracked and logged.
- Deliver permit packets to and from clients and municipalities as needed.
- Record and communicate notices of commencement (NOC) dates and statuses.
- General Administrative Duties:
- Answer phones, handle customer inquiries, and educate clients about permit requirements and processes.
- Enter and update leads in the CRM system.
- Coordinate with office staff for smooth project execution.
- Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in administrative support or customer service, preferably in construction or permitting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software systems.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to municipalities as needed.
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
- Preferred:
- Associate's degree or higher.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting processes.
