Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Summary:

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a leading skilled nursing facility (SNF) in Puyallup, WA, to find a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). This is a permanent, part-time (30 hours/week) position offering a flexible schedule across all days of the week, including weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in Evaluations: Collaborate with the Physical Therapist (PT) to conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' physical abilities, functional limitations, and progress towards goals.
• Implement Treatment Plans: Under the supervision of a licensed PT, implement individualized treatment plans to address specific needs and goals, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver various interventions, such as exercises, gait training, and modalities, to promote functional improvement, pain reduction, and enhanced mobility.
• Collaborate: Work effectively with the interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
• Document: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident progress and treatment interventions.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.
• Licensure:
  • Valid state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Washington.
• Experience:
  • Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric rehabilitation setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents, families, and staff.
  • Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Schedule:

• Part-time: 30 hours per week.
