Total Sono provides OB/GYN ultrasound services, led by a network of board certified MFM consultants and backed by a team of certified ultrasound technologists, patient care liaisons and other industry experts.
Who You Are:The Medical Receptionist is responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff, greeting and checking in all patients for office appointments, including paperwork for patients to fill out, scanning insurance cards, entering all demographic information into the electronic health record, scanning for staff as needed, and working closely with physicians and/or staff. The Medical Receptionist is accountable for contributing positively to the good working relationship of the staff based on values of respect, kindness, courtesy and compassion for each other and our patients.
We are currently seeking a Per Diem Medical Receptionist for our Staten Island location.
What You'll Do:- Ability to communicate with a diverse range of patients, with courtesy and respect.
- Must be able to handle heavy volume of calls in a fast-paced environment.
- Obtaining and updating patient demographic and verifying insurance information at each visit.
- Collection of any balances due from the patient at the time of visit and make note(s) in patients records.
- Scanning pertinent patient information into electronic program.
- Obtaining patient authorization for medical records release (HIPAA compliance).
- Schedules any necessary appointments after completion of patient visit.
- Monitor and review patient schedules for next appointments.
- Identifying and resolving minor patient billing complaints.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, and stocking of office supplies.
- Assist office staff as needed and/or other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work independently and collectively with administration and staff on assigned tasks, as well as accept direction on given assignments.
- HS Diploma required; Associates preferred.
- 1+ years of Medical Reception experience.
- Prior experience in an OB/GYN office HIGHLY DESIRABLE.
