Job Description:

ACS is seeking a reliable and skilled per diem dumpster rental driver to join our team.  Are you retired and looking for something not full time but that will keep you active? As a Per Diem Dumpster Rental Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of dumpsters to and from job sites, ensuring timely delivery and pick-up. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members. If you want to work days and would like to make some extra cash this might be for you.  If you're retired or semi-retired this might be for you. This position is 7 am -3:30 pm every Thursday and includes filling in for drivers when they are sick or on vacation.

Responsibilities:

1. Safely operate and maneuver our hook lift truck.

2. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.

3. Load and unload dumpsters onto trucks using proper equipment and techniques.

4. Secure loads to prevent shifting or damage during transportation, while always tarping properly.

5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of deliveries and pick-ups, including customer signatures and any special instructions.

6. Communicate effectively with dispatch to ensure efficient routing and scheduling.

7. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally.

8. Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe and responsible driving record.

9. Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure and conducting regular inspections.

10. Place a yard sign at the end of every street where a dumpster is placed.

11. Place door hangers after every drop-off where a dumpster is placed.

Requirements:

1. Valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving record; no CDL required

2. Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably in the waste management or construction industry.

3. Ability to operate and maintain different types of trucks and equipment.

4. Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.

5. Excellent communication and customer service skills.

6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

7. Physical ability to lift and move heavy dumpsters.

8. Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours when necessary.
