An amazing new opportunity has come up on our Family Services Team! We are looking for a Per Diem Assistive Technology Specialist to join us and be a part of our Assistive Technology department!

Job Summary: Conducts Assistive Technology Assessments for individuals served by Northeast Arc and the Department of Developmental Services. Reviews past relevant documents, works collaboratively with ISP team members, and utilizes a Person-Centered approach to assessment and AT recommendation. Ensures the technology meets the needs of the individual and provides ongoing training and support. Creates comprehensive evaluation documentation in accordance with program requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provides an Assistive Technology Evaluation for clients based on the individual’s goals for greater independence and safety.
• Possesses knowledge of existing Assistive Technology solutions and supports.
• Areas of Assistive Tech include but are not limited to technology access, safety, mobility, speech and communication, employment (skill acquisition), speech to text, and recreation.
• Evaluates multiple environments an individual operates in, and the different ways AT can assist across all environments.
• Drafts evaluations that include potential options, identified equipment selected to fit the Individual's needs/goals/capabilities, including an evaluation of the benefits of the equipment being considered versus those used in the past equipment.
• Collaborates with relevant staff and/or clinical experts to assist with assessments or the subjects mentioned above, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience and background working with developmental disabilities and/or occupational therapy
• Masters or bachelor's in special education, health sciences, or rehabilitation science
• Possesses current and valid Massachusetts license in occupational therapy (OT) or physical therapy (PT) or speech-language pathology (SLP) issued in accordance with 259 CMR 5.00 (PT), 259 CMR 3.00 (OT) or 260 CMR 2.00 (SLP), or a certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) or a certified Rehabilitation Engineering Technologist (RET) plus working knowledge of assistive technology
• If not ATP certified, willing and able to become certified within 6 months
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Job Type: Per Diem

Work Environment: Evaluations will occur within the home, school, or day program of the client, or at the Center for Linking Lives in Danvers, necessitating travel. Occasional evening or weekend hours.

Pay Rate: $40-$45/hr
