Salary: starting at $100,000 depending on experience + annual discretionary bonus
People & Culture (HR) Manager Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, the People & Culture Manager performs professional-level, full employment cycle human resources generalist work for all levels of staff.
This job is 100% on-site in our beautiful Ladera Ranch office.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Provides support and guidance to all levels of staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Assists in managing the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Provides guidance and support to Managers, Supervisors, and Employees regarding leaves of absences and workers’ compensation claims.
- Processes, reviews and responds to unemployment and workers comp claims with appropriate documentation. Reviews unemployment statements.
- Performs technical and professional level management support functions in the daily administration of all human resource services with limited supervision.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Ability to comfortably deliver presentations across various platforms, in a clear, concise, and engaging manner. Competently responding to audience questions and feedback while presenting and adapt presentations to meet the needs of specific audiences or situations. Works collaboratively with other team members to ensure a successful presentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Needed
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- A minimum five years’ direct human resource management experience for a multi-site company required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or other Human Resources certification highly desired.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and HRIS systems.
- Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
