Essential Duties:
- Work closely with patients with substance use problems to enhance their recovery, in individual and group settings.
- Provide individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching and support with appropriate professional boundaries and means.
- Achieve 6 hours of patient engagement per day worked and documented appropriate in SAMMS (30 hours per week).
- Prioritize engagement with all newly admitted patients.
- Assist and provide motivation, support, and education to individuals in treatment at FGC.
- Provide training in the use of personal and community resources.
- Develop individualized relapse prevention plans and assist in developing formal and informal community supports.
- Assist individuals with increasing social support networks of relatives, friends and/or significant others.
- Offer encouragement in times of crisis and stress to eliminate potential barriers to ongoing recovery.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (6:15a - 2:45p)
Work Location: 2630 S. Wabash Ave., Chicago
Pay Rate: $19.23 per hour

Required Experience:
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old. Must have at least one year of recovery from substance use, mental health or co-occurring substance use and mental health challenges.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified by the Illinois Certification Board (ICB, Inc.) as a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CRPS) or be certified within one year of employment date.
