Responsibilities
**General Purpose:**
In collaboration with the Pediatric Trauma Medical Director and Pediatric Trauma Advanced Practice Provider, coordinate and facilitate all aspects of the pediatric trauma program. Assist in the coordination of pediatric trauma care across the continuum, establishes and oversees processes to monitor clinical outcomes and performance improvement activities. Represent the pediatric trauma program while interacting with representatives from other medical center departments as well as outside agencies, regional trauma faculty, staff, and regulatory agencies.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
**Continuum of Trauma Care**
+ Maintain knowledge of current standards by performing initial and ongoing gap analysis for trauma center accreditation, designation, and verification requirements to optimize patient care throughout the trauma continuum.
+ Utilize effective communication and inter-professional partnership with different department, organization, roles, and hierarchies to achieve compliance with requirements as a Trauma Center.
+ Oversee all aspects of the performance improvement and patient safety plan.
+ Supervise data collection, coding, scoring, validation, reporting and analysis to ensure accurate data is driving the performance improvement actions of the trauma program.
+ Interface with all levels of management to communicate trauma related items.
+ Reduce injury by aligning with injury prevention professionals within the community.
**Professional Issues**
+ Collaborate with internal departments across the continuum of care to maintain accreditation, designation, and verification as a Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center.
+ Review performance improvement and patient safety plan to ensure the principles of TOPIC (Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course) and the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma are present and do not deviate from the standards of trauma care.
+ Foster and maintain relationships with prehospital agencies and referring facilities to improve trauma care.
+ Facilitate inter-professional trauma education to maintain adherence to accreditation, designation, and trauma verification requirements.
+ Participate in local, regional, and national professional organizations and forums to improve trauma care across the continuum.
**Human Resources**
+ Lead trauma center staff through direct interaction and communication by using institutional resources to enhance and maintain operational functions.
+ Collaborate with departments across the continuum of trauma care to develop and maintain trauma specific components of trauma orientation and ongoing competencies.
+ Optimize communication with staff to promote continued growth and professional development.
+ Collaborate with departments and divisions across the continuum of trauma care to promote compliance with standards, policy, guidelines, and educational requirements.
**Management of physical resources, financial resources, and medical professionals**
+ Facilitate evaluation of medical equipment and other physical resources needs of the trauma system through issues identified by the performance improvement process.
+ Evaluate financial needs.
+ Explore external funding to maximize opportunities in areas such as research, injury preventions, and community outreach.
**Public Relations**
+ Recognize and participate in trauma center marketing and public relations.
+ Foster relationships with hospital marketing and public relations by collaborating to promote the trauma program.
+ Develop personal skill set to represent the trauma center at public relations and marketing events and other forums.
**Project Management**
+ Develop and execute performance improvement projects through monitoring data trends, outcomes, and other metrics to improve trauma care.
+ Serve as a liaison to local, regional, state, and federal government entities to gain support of and collaboration with the trauma system.
**Qualifications:**
**Required:**
+ Bachelor’s degree and 5 years relevant experience including at least 2 years at a managerial level; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree, equivalent course work, or specialized experience in an appropriate field related to the assignment is desirable.
**Preferred:**
+ Experience in trauma, emergency medical services, emergency medicine, leadership, and management
+ Trauma programs, ACS verification
+ TCRN, ATCN, CEN

**Pay Range**
Pay Range: $58,000 - $113,000 Annually
_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
