Job Description
The role of a SLP at Autism Matters is to provide the highest quality and standard of speech and language therapy and/or feeding therapy to clients served. A full-time SLP is expected to maintain a maximum of 30 hours of direct therapy time or provide 50 therapy sessions per week (whichever comes first). A SLP is responsible for managing their caseload of clients including conducting speech and language evaluations, writing treatment plans with appropriate goals, writing generalization plans when needed, completing daily progress notes, preparing appropriate materials for clients, and participating in meetings.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- A Master’s degree in speech-language pathology.
- Licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health.
- CCC-SLP.
- Familiar with basic ABA principles and therapy techniques after training.
- Experience working with children diagnosed with ASD preferred.
- Be available to work a daily schedule of 8 AM – 5 PM Monday through Friday. Autism Matters will review other availability and scheduling requests on a case by case basis.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide high quality direct speech, language and/or feeding services.
- Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Complete and maintain timely and effective written documentation of evaluations, reassessments, treatment plans, and daily progress notes.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration during meetings, overlaps, and trainings.
- Communicate, collaborate, and educate effectively with professionals, parents, and caregivers to carryover strategies, generalize skills, and best support the client and family.
- Train and support caregivers on carryover strategies for home and community environments.
- Conduct speech language evaluations and annual re-evaluations to assess speech performance and analyze results to determine client needs and appropriate treatment goals.
- Assess, monitor, and document client progress and responses to interventions.
- Adjust activities and modify environments to promote client success within sessions.
- Plan, organize, and conduct therapeutic and client-centered activities within sessions.
- Select developmentally appropriate activities that target the skills most important to client and family to promote wellbeing and participation in daily activities.
- Prepare, organize, and clean therapy materials and equipment.
- Implement evidenced-based practice and research into practice.
- Participate in community outreach events.

- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Please note that this position involves physical activity such as near constant standing, bending, lifting, and assisting clients with prompting.
