What is it that we do?

Includ(Ed) provides early intervention-focused, full-time, inclusive preschool where all are welcome. Collectively, our staff provides the support, care, and education that enable typically-developing children and children with disabilities to learn, play, and thrive together.

The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team. Alongside the rest of the infant therapy team, this Physical therapist would see approximately 9-12 infants and toddlers in the home to provide therapy (driving time paid). This Physical therapist would push into our preschool program to work with our collaborative therapy and educational team 3x weekly. Additionally, they would co-teach our parent-and-me developmental playgroups as well as lead some of our community classes (ex: adaptive gymnastics, inclusive yoga).

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to provide co-teaching support within the developmental playgroups
Deliver small group and direct services to children with diverse physical abilities, focusing on motor skills development, mobility, and overall physical well-being.
Conduct home visits to provide physical therapy services to children in the comfort of their own homes.
Assess each child's needs and develop individualized treatment plans to address their specific physical challenges.
Co-create and facilitate transdisciplinary early intervention-focused curriculum with a team of other therapists and teachers.
Implement therapeutic exercises, techniques, and interventions to improve children's gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and mobility.
Document and maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and any related administrative tasks.
Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers to provide updates on their child's progress and involve them in goal-setting and treatment planning.

Requirements:

Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
Valid California licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist.
Experience working with young children, preferably in an educational or early intervention setting.
Strong understanding of child development and the impact of physical challenges on overall well-being.
Ability to work effectively as part of a transdisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact compassionately with children, parents, and colleagues.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children of all abilities.
Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of a pilot program and work in a collaborative, innovative environment.
Genuine belief in the power of inclusion.
Regular access to reliable transportation.

Working Hours:

Approx. 15 hours per week providing home visits therapy to our clients.
Approx. 4-6 hours collaboration and planning time.
Approx. 19 hours per week teaching our preschool program, community classes and therapeutic playgroups
