Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team of school-based dental providers. The ideal candidate will have experience working with pediatric patients and a passion for promoting oral health education. As a School-Based Dental Hygienist with Healthy Smiles, you will play a vital role in delivering preventive dental services and oral health education to children in school settings, helping to create a positive dental experience and instilling lifelong oral health habits.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform dental cleanings and screenings for pediatric patients in school-based settings.
2. Conduct oral health assessments and identify signs of dental disease or abnormalities.
3. Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to prevent tooth decay.
4. Educate students, parents, and school staff on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental care.
5. Provide individualized oral hygiene instruction and personalized preventive care recommendations.
6. Assist the dentist with dental examinations and procedures as needed.
7. Willingness to travel within Rockland County, NY, to provide dental services at various school locations.
8. Must be able to pass a background check, including fingerprinting, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program.
2. Valid license to practice dental hygiene in the state of New York.
3. Experience working with pediatric patients preferred.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and their families.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
