The Department of Anesthesiology at Childrens Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Fellowship-trained Anesthesiologist. The Section of Pediatric Anesthesiology provides care to more than 20,000 children annually in perioperative anesthesia, critical care, and pain medicine settings. This faculty member will join a team of 35 fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologists in providing direct patient care, supervision of the care team, and education of medical students, residents, and fellows. Pediatric anesthesiologists practice in a collaborative and supportive environment with world-class surgical and medical staff to provide opportunities for developing clinical excellence in a range of subspecialty services, and are integral in the academic, research, educational, and quality improvement missions of the institutions.
Opportunity with Pediatric Anesthesiology
- Join a team including 35 fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists and a growing team of medically directed Anesthesiology Assistants and Certified Registered Nursing Assistants.
- Engage in a busy practice that includes both OR as well as non-OR sites at CWs Milwaukee Campus
- Provide leadership and guidance to perioperative team members to optimize patient care safety, quality, and efficiency of the perioperative setting
- Collaborate with world-class pediatric surgeons and medical staff with a range of complex cases
- Contribute to the clinical education of pediatric fellows, residents, medical students and other trainees
- Focus on a patient-centered approach to delivery of care and engage in a climate of inquiry and safety
- Participate in the academic, research and educational missions of the institution
- Build positive relationships with surgeons, proceduralists, nurses, technicians and other stakeholders

Childrens Wisconsin is the states only independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. With more than 1.3 million annual connections with kids and families statewide, Childrens provides a wide range of care and support everything from routine care to lifesaving advances and treatment options, adoption services, child advocacy, and provides an insurance plan.
Childrens and its joint venture with the Medical College of Wisconsin - the Childrens Specialty Group, or CSG - are the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state, serving the children and families of Wisconsin with the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Childrens Surgery Verification Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, 72-bed Level IV NICU, Level IV Epilepsy Center, and a 72-bed PICU. In 2021-2022, six specialties were ranked by US News & World Report: cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; gastroenterology and GI surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; and pulmonology. With over 70 specialties and 675 providers, CSG providers had 220,000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites, 67,000 emergency department/trauma center visits, and over 9,000 admissions in 2021. CSG anesthesiologists provided perioperative care for more than 22,500 surgical, interventional, and complex diagnostic cases.
