Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Perform special inspections onsite (Masonry, Concrete, Rebar, Bolting and Welding).
- Review Structure Engineer Design and ensure all work in the field is complying with design, plans and job specifications.
- Read and assure approved specifications of design documents are onsite and enforced.
- Responsible for assuring all work is in compliance with plans and specifications, and UL ratings during fire stopping inspection and fire rated construction.
- Maintain detailed written reports that are presented to owner, design professional and contractors, including detailed list of non-compliant items and how they were resolved.
- Report Non-Conformance items to the Engineer of Record, follow up on closure documents, and prepare final evaluation report for resolution by the Engineer.
- Keep daily logs to track inspection findings.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience performing special inspections onsite (Masonry, Concrete, Rebar, Bolting and Welding).
- Required certifications: ICC, ACI, CWI, and OSHA-30.
- MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel and SharePoint) preferred.
- Strong organizational ability and good communication skills
