PC Network Support Technician (1-6 years experience)

Job Summary:
Provides technical support for computers and associated networks. Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs personal computers, network equipment such as servers, modems, multiplexers, related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors. Provides personal computer, hardware, and software support. Installs, services, and repairs personal computers and installs attendant software. Connects personal computers and terminals to existing data networks. Maintains network diagrams and circuit records. Maintains trouble logs. Instructs users in the use of personal computers and networks. Investigates information, network, and communications needs of users, and makes recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases. Performs basic PC and network software programming.
Tasks include:
• Provide Desktop support and troubleshooting of interoperability issues.
• Work closely with other IT organizations and Computer Security to ensure solutions best meet the
requirements within the Customer approved existing infrastructure.
• Resolve problems involving new or existing hardware/software.
• Research vendor documentation and work with other supporting organizations for troubleshooting
solutions.
• Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers, related PC software, cables, and
connectors.
• Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal or external customers, in written
and oral format.
• Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network,
software, and system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, and customer
and IT management.
• Support multiple networks; ensure necessary administration tasks are completed.
• Analyze internal and external customer requirements; provide potential solution based on standard
hardware and software.
• Provide managed and non-managed printer support
• Document procedures and instructions as required
Basic Requirements PC Network Support Technician
• Associates Degree
• 2-6 years overall work experience within IT field.
• Must be able to work modified shifts, weekends, if needed, and have some flexible working hours to
support testing needs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite.
Preferred Requirements:
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Windows Active Directory & DNS experience.
• Managing GPO’s
• Windows Client & Server Experience. (Win10\Server 2016,2019,2022)
• Experience working with a virtual environment (Nutanix, Hyper-V & ESXi)
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment.
• Understanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing and VLANs.
• Cisco experience and/or certification.
• Experience with cloning hard drives and creating system images.
• Experience with Certification & Accreditation process.
• Familiar with Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles
• DoD 8570 Certification preferred.
• Experience managing systems under NIST 800-171, NISPOM Chapter 8
• Able to lift 50lbs and climb a latter.
