We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team in the technology industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all payroll tax activities, including ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, preparing tax returns, and coordinating audits. This position requires a deep understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. The candidate must also have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and execute all activities related to payroll tax services, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
2. Prepare and file all payroll tax returns, including 941 payroll taxes, and manage multi-state payroll tax processes.
3. Research and resolve payroll tax notices while maintaining strong relationships with tax agencies.
4. Coordinate internal and external audits related to payroll taxes and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
5. Develop and maintain detailed reports on payroll tax activities for management review.
6. Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and withholding.
7. Stay informed about changing payroll tax laws and regulations and communicate these changes to the relevant teams.
8. Assist in the development and implementation of payroll tax strategies to optimize efficiency and compliance.
9. Provide expert guidance and support to team members on all matters related to payroll taxes.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll tax or related field, preferably in the technology industry.
3. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is highly preferred.
4. Extensive knowledge of payroll federal, state, and local tax laws and regulatory compliance.
5. Experience with 941 payroll taxes and multi-state payroll taxes.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
8. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
10. Proficiency in payroll tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
11. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
12. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
