We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Permanent Payroll Supervisor to join our dynamic finance team. This exciting role offers the opportunity to oversee the payroll function within our organization, ensuring that all processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the payroll team, maintaining payroll guidelines, resolving payroll discrepancies, and providing payroll information when necessary. This role requires a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Supervisor, you will be tasked with the following duties:
1. Supervise and coordinate activities of payroll staff to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
2. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
3. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
4. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
5. Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
6. Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
7. Perform various administrative tasks such as managing company insurance policies, updating databases, and preparing reports.
8. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
9. Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production.
10. Process and manage 401K contributions, A/R, and other related tasks.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following:
1. A minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory role within a payroll department.
2. Proven experience with payroll processing and tax regulations.
3. Proficient with payroll software as well as MS Office (especially Excel).
4. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
7. Strong knowledge and experience with 401K management and A/R processes.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
9. Excellent problem-solving/judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
