Great opportunity for an experience Payroll professional to join this leading money management firm.
Reporting to the Director of Payroll, the Payroll Specialist will be part of approximately a 30 person multistate Human Resources team providing a wide range of support to the department and its 1200+ US multistate employees.
This role operates as a team player with knowledge in payroll administrative best practices and payroll compliance. Duties include all aspects of payroll wage and hour regulations. Calculating and balancing earnings and deduction totals, preparing payroll entries, garnishments, and calculating paid leave of absence payments, inspecting automated system output such as registers and standard reports.
Key Responsibilities include:
Knowledge of basic principles of payroll and tax withholding administration with excellent attention to detail
Administer all aspects of multistate payroll processing from start to finish for eight biweekly and five monthly payroll FEINs
Calculate and process final payments for all terminating employees
Perform Pre-audit and Post audit review utilizing ADP Standard reports
Perform a Payroll Preview Register reconciliation as part of the pre-auditing process to ensure payment accuracy
Create and validate payroll data output accuracy using the ADP Reporting tool
Respond to employee request for assistance with Time Off requests, Timecard entries, and ADP access
Ability to own tasks, analyze payment data including quarter to date and year to date review to ensure plan and calendar year limits are accurate.
Collaborate with Payroll Tax team as needed to research issues and resolve timely
Coordinate with HR teams regarding final vacation balances and paybacks
Gather documentation for external and internal auditors upon request
Assist new employees with I-9 process to obtain work authorization through E-Verify
Manage various Leave of Absence payroll related tasks
Submit Employment Verifications and Leave of Absence claims to State agencies upon request.
Calculate State benefit payments issued to employees to offset eligible paid leave earnings for various Short-Term Disability, State Paid Family Leave, and Parental Leave payments.
Process Taxable and Non-Taxable updates and applicable Offsets in ADP in a to ensure timely W2 reporting
Record state disability and paid leave claim information on internal and external State agency forms
Meet biweekly with the Leave Manager to review the status of Leave of Absence claims and payments
Administer Worker's Compensation forms and partner with HR members as needed on claims
Collaborate with various departments on cross-functional projects
Attend meetings with ADP team regarding issues and system enhancements
Assist in ADP Payroll and Timekeeping project-based testing in the UAT environment
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate Degree (preferred)
Payroll Certification (FPC/CPP preferred)
ADP experience required (Vantage/MyADP preferred)
ADP Reporting Tool experience
Intermediate level Excel experience
2- 3+ years Payroll Administration experience
Excellent client service mindset with a positive "sense of urgency approach to resolution
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization and flexible and to perform multiple tasks in a busy environment
Effective computer software skills in Zoom, PDF, and Microsoft Word, Teams, and Outlook
Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential matters in a professional and positive manner
Flexible for overtime as necessary, particularly for payroll transmissions
