FULL DESCRIPTION:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Payroll Processing: Accurately process weekly, payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Employee Onboarding: Prepare and collect the necessary paperwork for all new-hire employees. Set up and maintain employee profiles.
- Data Entry: Input new employee information, salary changes, and benefits elections into the payroll system, ensuring accuracy.
- Time and Attendance Management: Oversee employee timecards and attendance records, ensuring accurate reporting of hours worked, vacation days, sick leave, and other time off.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate payroll records, including tax forms (W-2, 1099, etc.), timekeeping, overtime, and bonuses.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular payroll reports to management, including earnings, deductions, tax contributions, and any other requested data.
- Employee Support: Respond to employee payroll inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide guidance on payroll-related issues on a daily/weekly basis.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll, including providing required documentation and explanations.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices to continuously improve payroll procedures.
- Prevailing Wage Payroll Processing: Process payroll for employees working on government-funded or public works projects that require compliance with prevailing wage laws, ensuring accurate wage rates, benefits, and reporting requirements are met.
The selected candidate will also possess:
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role, preferably in a mid-to-large company setting.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, BBSI, Workday, or similar), timekeeping systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of payroll compliance requirements at federal, state, and local levels.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for accuracy and the ability to handle sensitive employee data confidentially.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for handling inquiries and providing clear information to employees and management.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and work collaboratively to resolve issues.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while ensuring the timely completion of payroll tasks.
Salary Range: $31-$36/hr
