This is a contract to hire position, where they will hire you permanently after the contract period. While you are on contract, you'll have full benefits as well!
You'll be responsible for multi-state payroll for 500 employees, including calculating bonuses, deductions, overtime, updating new hires and terminations, payroll reporting such as W-2's and 1099's.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years of multi-state experience processing for close to 500 employees, and has experience with Paychex, or ADP or similar software and is extremely reliable.

Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be at the heart of our financial operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of our payroll systems. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Processing multi-state payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
2. Maintaining and updating payroll records, including salaries, bonuses, taxes, deductions, and leaves.
3. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
4. Coordinating with HR and Finance departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and provide accurate compensation to employees.
5. Preparing and submitting reports on payroll activities to the management.
6. Providing expert advice and consultancy on payroll-related matters to both internal teams and external clients.
7. Liaising with auditors and managing payroll tax audits.
8. Developing and implementing payroll policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and ensure data integrity.
9. Serving as a key point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, effectively managing employee relations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of payroll systems and employee relations. The following qualifications are required:
1. A High School Diploma.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll, processing multi-state, at least 300+ employees.
3. Extensive knowledge of payroll systems, tax procedures, and wage and hour laws.
4. Proficiency in payroll software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
5. Exceptional numerical skills and attention to detail.
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage employee relations effectively.
7. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
