Job description
We are conducting telephone and video conferencing interviews.
Center Point, Inc. is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist. This is a full-time position. This position reports to the HR Administrator.
Responsibilities:
- Checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards, maintaining time and attendance records
- Develop an in-depth understanding of payroll reporting from the payroll system to be able to create ad-hoc reports on demand
- Prepares and processes the full cycle semi-monthly payroll. Generates paychecks and direct deposits.
- Ensure that payrolls are processed timely, accurately, and compliantly
- Facilitate and process employee benefits enrollment forms
- Reviews payroll status change forms (PSCFs) and other employee deduction and contribution forms for completeness and accuracy and makes necessary entries into the payroll system
- Performs complex retroactive pay calculation and applies adjustments
- Analyzes various payroll reports for accuracy; makes corrections as needed
- Assists in the preparation and reconciliation of annual W-2 forms
- Prepares spreadsheets to record and track PTO and sick leave time allocation disbursements
- Receives and reconciles monthly insurance invoices and submits for payment to accounts payable
- Tracks employee leaves related to FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and Military leave. Notice employees on unpaid leave and adjust amounts due for insurance benefits
- Assists employees with various questions and requests for information
- Receives and researches requirements for wage assignment orders and tax levies and implements related deductions
- Receives and completes various forms, surveys, and verifications of employment
Requirements:
- BA degree in HR Administration, Business Management or Accounting, preferred. (Two years of experience may substitute for each year of education)
- Minimum of 2 years' payroll administration experience for 100 plus employees (3+ years’ experience if no degree).
- Knowledge of the principles, procedures, and practices related to payroll recordkeeping and reporting. Must have experience in and maintaining complex automated payroll systems, including preparing and processing a semi-monthly payroll and related disbursements.
- Knowledge of accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and regulatory compliance; federal and state laws related to payroll and the FLSA.
- Basic skills in business math, including fractions, percentages, and ratios.
- Intermediate knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, or database programs.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with others, thinking independently, and problem-solving.
