Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Payroll Specialist. This role entails delivering exceptional payroll services to our diverse clientele in the Salt Lake City area. As a payroll expert, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing payroll systems for businesses with varying complexities and sizes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process payroll for clients with 1500+ employees, encompassing hourly, salary, and commission-based pay structures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in working with multiple payroll systems, showcasing adaptability and expertise in navigating different platforms. Ensure precise and timely payroll processing, inclusive of tax deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related calculations.
- Offer consultancy and guidance to clients regarding payroll best practices, compliance, and optimization strategies. Undertake general bookkeeping tasks, such as managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Collaborate closely with clients to grasp their unique business needs and customize payroll solutions accordingly.
- Stay abreast of the latest payroll regulations and compliance mandates, ensuring adherence to legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in payroll processing and management, preferably handling 1500+ employees.
- Proficiency in Paycom, ADP, or PayChex.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Capability to work autonomously and as part of a team, delivering outstanding client service.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or equivalent experience in union environments is highly desirable.
