Summary
This successful applicant will have at least 2 years of payroll experience in a corporate setting. This position requires the ability to work quickly, accurately and independently and handle confidential and sensitive information. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a busy office environment, where multitasking is required.
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the effective management and profitable operation of a payroll of over 4000 employees. This includes processing payroll, taxation forms and benefits, as well as maintaining employee data, handling payroll questions and completing any other tasks necessary for monitoring and overseeing a company’s payroll process.
Responsibilities:
- accrual process and audit/edit accrual balances for all employees and track scheduling errors
- Enter Health Insurance Deductions into ADP
- Help Process a weekly special payroll for corrections and out of sequence adjustments
- Issue ALINE pay cards
- Prepares, audits and processes garnishments
- Processing of manual checks such as terminations and discrepancies, as needed.
- Respond to any payroll-related questions or concerns employees might have
- Audit and resolve discrepancies
- Comply with federal, state, and local requirements by studying existing and new legislation and advising management on needed actions
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for internal use
- Ability to maintain quality and accuracy in a fast paced, multi-tasking, detail oriented, deadline restricted environment
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 2-4 years of payroll experience, preferably for a minimum company size of 1000.
- Professional demeanor and phone voice, client service driven with a desire to grow in an organization
- Experience with ADP a plus
- Strong ability to multitask
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, strong Excel
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
- Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
