Job Opportunity: Payment Allocation & Payroll Specialist (In-Office, Long-Term Position)
Our psychotherapy group practice is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to manage insurance payment allocations, assist with payroll processing, and oversee training for new hires. This is a long-term, in-office position, and we are seeking someone who is committed to growing with our team.
Responsibilities:
Insurance Payment Allocation:
- Accurately record and allocate incoming insurance payments , ensuring funds are assigned to the correct accounts.
- Reconcile payments with insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to verify accuracy.
- Identify and address any discrepancies in payments received.
Payroll Assistance:
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in payouts.
- Maintain records and ensure proper compensation based on insurance reimbursements.
- Communicate with employee regarding any payroll-related questions or discrepancies.
Bookkeeping & Administrative Support:
- Maintain accurate financial records for the practice, ensuring proper tracking of payments and outstanding balances.
- Work with the team to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
- Assist with preparing financial reports as needed.
Training & Onboarding:
- Be responsible for training all new hires on office workflow, policies, and daily operations.
- Develop and implement training materials and guides to ensure smooth onboarding for new team members.
- Provide ongoing support and supervision to new employees to ensure they fully understand the practice's procedures and expectations.
- Assist new hires in getting acclimated to the team, systems, and office environment.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial data management IS REQUIRED.
- Experience working with insurance billing, medical/therapy practices, or financial reconciliation is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Google Sheets (or Excel) and experience handling data entry and financial tracking.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple financial records efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in payments.
- Trustworthy and confidential, as you will be handling sensitive financial and payroll information.
- Experience in training or onboarding new employees in office workflow and operations.
Preferred but Not Required:
- Familiarity with insurance claims, billing codes, and EOBs.
- Prior experience working in a healthcare, therapy, or medical setting.
