Position Overview:
Spencer Thomas Group (STG) is currently looking to add to our team of consultants under our Payroll Specialist Consulting Group
Responsibilities:
Duration: This is a project-based consulting opportunity with a start date of January 27, 2025 with an initial duration through July 26, 2025 with the possibility of extending.
Level of Effort:
25-35 hours per week

Spencer Thomas Group (STG) is currently looking to add to our team of consultants under our Payroll Specialist Consulting Group
Responsibilities:
- Ensures employee hours are properly reported in ADP.
- Maintain Payroll mailbox by providing exceptional customer service to departments and employees by answering inquiries from employees concerning payroll information.
- Recognizes, in a timely manner, potentially serious employee pay policy exceptions and communicates these to the Payroll Manager so the issue can be resolved.
- Researches and responds to requests for payroll information or assistance from employees.
- Assist in the bi-weekly payroll process for 1,600+ employees under strict deadlines.
- Process special payrolls as needed (i.e., annual & quarterly bonuses and one-off payrolls.).
- Input garnishments and correspond with agency.
- Maintain secure and confidential payroll files.
- Ensure any payroll errors are resolved in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development of payroll processes and procedures.
- Adjust team member's checks as authorized by the team member or management (401k, medical benefits, LOA, etc.).
- Add new taxes to payroll system (state, city, county, etc.)
- Set up new tax jurisdictions (state, city, county, etc.)
- Communicate with employees through Payroll Engage page.
- Assist employees with any payroll questions.
- Calculates prior pay period adjustments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 1-3 years multi state payroll experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects.
- Experience with ADP Lyric is a plus.
- Highly Organized
- Ability to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles including payroll and payroll taxes.
