Job Summary: The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, managing HRIS systems, and ensuring compliance with union agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Accurately process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Union Liaison: Collaborate with union representatives to ensure payroll and benefits are aligned with union agreements and resolve any related issues.
- HRIS Management: Maintain and update the HRIS (Paylocity) to ensure accurate employee data, payroll records, and reporting.
- Benefits Administration: Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-sponsored benefits.
- Compliance: Ensure all payroll and HRIS activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze payroll and HRIS reports to support HR and finance functions.
- Employee Support: Provide support to employees regarding payroll, benefits, and HRIS inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing and HRIS management, preferably with experience in Paylocity.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations.
- Experience working with unions and understanding of union agreements.
- Proficiency in Paylocity or similar HRIS systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
