JOB SUMMARY:
Interact with personnel from all divisions to collect and process hourly and salaried multi-state/country payroll. Reconcile accounts and participate in month end closings including journal entry uploads. Process prevailing wage/union as well as other governmental compliance reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Process weekly and biweekly payroll
· Setup garnishments
· Reconcile monthly payroll balance sheet accounts
· Reconcile payroll tax
· Participate in payroll month end close
· File and pay Canadian workers compensation
· Submit Worker’s Comp returns to monopolistic states
· Ensure union and prevailing wage payroll is processed accurately and reporting is timely
· Complete governmental surveys
· Participate in and contribute to process improvement projects
· Handle all other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Standing, walking, bending, and sitting for extended periods are required to perform basic office functions.
· Ability to lift up to 15 pounds is regularly required for filing and other record keeping duties.
· Vision must be sufficient for inputting data into a computer.
· Keyboarding skills that reduce the risk of carpal tunnel and other office related injuries
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
· Indoor office environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred
· 3+ years of payroll experience
· ADP Workforce Now is a plus
· Experience with year-end and multi-state taxes is a plus
· Prevailing wage/union experience a plus
· International payroll experience with Mexico, Canada or Australia is a plus
· Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-stressed environment
· Must have strong MS Office Suite skills, specifically Excel
· Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
· Must be available to work overtime as needed to meet payroll deadlines
· Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy
· Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland, L.P.
