Growing Construction/Manufacturing company in St. Paul, is looking for an experienced Payroll Processor to join their team. This position will be full cycle processing for about 150 employees, including payroll tax, PTO accruals, submitted certified payroll and preparing reporting for union and non-union employees.
You'll also be able to assist with recruiting and onboarding functions as well. Making it a great multi-faceted role!
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of full cycle payroll with union and non-union employees as a must.
This is a fully onsite position.

This exciting role will see you working within a dynamic finance team, where you will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll for our construction and manufacturing employees. Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
1. Managing the entire payroll process for our construction and manufacturing employees across multiple states, ensuring that all payments are made accurately and on time.
2. Collaborating with the HR and recruiting team to ensure new hires, terminations, and other employee changes are updated promptly in the payroll system.
3. Calculating and processing payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
4. Handling W-2 forms, year-end reports, and other payroll-related documents.
5. Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering employee queries about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records.
6. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date payroll records.
7. Participating in audits and reviews of payroll records.
8. Staying updated on current regulations, industry trends, and best practices in payroll processing.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within the construction/manufacturing industry.
2. Advanced knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws and regulations.
3. Proficiency in using payroll software and HRIS systems.
4. Experience in recruiting and human resources.
5. Exceptional numerical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
9. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
10. A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field would be a plus.
