Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Payroll Specialist, you will:
1. Manage the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll.
2. Oversee and ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
3. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
4. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
5. Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
6. Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
7. Perform various administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, etc.
8. Work closely with the HR department to ensure accurate employee benefits and deductions.
9. Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve any payroll issues or discrepancies.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Payroll Specialist position will have:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll, preferably in the Accounting and Finance industry.
2. Proven experience with payroll processing for over 400 employees.
3. Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
4. Strong work ethic and team player.
5. High degree of professionalism.
6. Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
7. Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
8. Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
9. Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
10. Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
