The Payroll Manager - Reporting and Compliance manages the activities of two or more units within a large, centralized payroll department in carrying out payroll preparation, processing and one or more responsibilities such as tax recording, benefit-records administration or payroll systems maintenance. The Payroll Manager - Reporting and Compliance will have one or more Payroll Administrators and/or Coordinators as direct reports. This employee may also manage a regional or sectional payroll and related activities in an organization with multiple stand-alone payrolls reporting to a centralized payroll authority. 

 

Payroll Manager Qualifications:

• • • Proven ability to use MS Office tools including Excel.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
    • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
    • 3+ years of strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system.
    • Union remittance and reconciliation
    • Willing to learn reporting software tools such as Data Access Studio (DAS) and work with report development experts.
    • Experience with certified payrolls
    • Experience with tax compliance
    • Proven experience union remittance and reconciliation
    • Associate Degree in Business Administration/Finance/Accounting a plus
    • 5+ years in a Payroll Office performing all payroll functions; 3 additional years of payroll office experience in lieu of Associate's degree.
    • Certified Payroll Professional Certificate preferred or should be completed within first year of employment.
    • 3 years’ experience required with union payroll processing, reporting, and audits.
