Job Details
Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to:
- Responsible for the training and development of the payroll team.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures and ensure compliance with labor laws, government agencies, and union entities.
- Routine maintenance of ERP to updates to federal, state, and local taxes, employee files, worker compensation rates, union fringe benefits, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining a repository of current collective bargaining agreements and rates with union locals.
- Responsible for weekly payroll tax payments and assist with the preparation of quarterly payroll tax returns.
- Responsible for garnishment remittances and monthly union benefit reporting.
- Ensures compliance with OCIP, certified payroll, and unemployment reporting.
- Oversees year-end W-2 processing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- 10+ years of related payroll experience in construction. Heavy civil industry experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient interpersonal and organizational skills
- MS Office proficiency
- Excellent verbal and written communication
