Position Summary
The Payroll Associate will play a key role in supporting Emplova’s payroll operations, ensuring seamless and accurate payroll processing for our diverse client base. This position requires strong attention to detail, a client-service mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Payroll Associate will process multi-state payrolls, resolve discrepancies, and provide white-glove service to both clients and employees.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
- Accurately process payroll for multiple clients across various states on a timely basis using PrismHR.
- Assist with payroll adjustments, including but not limited to terminations, prorated pay, bonuses, retroactive payments, and off-cycle requests.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Serve as a key point of contact for payroll-related questions and concerns.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies quickly and effectively, maintaining Emplova's high client satisfaction standards.
- Collaborate with the Client Success team to troubleshoot and answer client payroll inquiries.
Data Integrity and Compliance
- Perform quality checks to ensure payroll accuracy, including tax calculations, deductions, benefits, garnishments, and union dues.
- Update payroll systems for changes to employee records (e.g., new hires, promotions, rate changes).
- Support payroll audits, tax filings, and reconciliations as needed.
Process Improvement
- Assist in developing and documenting workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Help identify opportunities for improving payroll processes and implementing best practices.
Collaboration and Growth
- Learn and understand Emplova’s standards for delivering boutique payroll services to anticipate client needs proactively.
- Support special projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of payroll experience; PEO experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with PrismHR or similar HRIS/payroll systems is a plus.
- Experience with multi-state payroll and understanding of wage and hour laws.
Skills:
- High proficiency in Excel and ability to analyze payroll data.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
- A client-service mindset with a strong desire to deliver accurate, timely, and proactive payroll support.
