Job Summary: The Payroll Clerk I supports payroll processing and invoicing functions at the PTi Corporate office. This position works closely with other departments, such as Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), Human Resources/Benefits, and Executive Management to assist with payroll and job costing support.Essential Functions:· Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for employees in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.· Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payroll submissions.· Review and maintain time and attendance records and payroll documentation.· Help resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.· Support the processing of changes in withholding, personal information, deductions, and direct deposits.· Onboards new employees into applicable systems.· Address and resolve basic questions and requests from employees and supervisors in a timely manner.· Support year-end functions such as W-2 distribution and audits.· Maintain payroll records in accordance with applicable regulations.· Stay informed about new legislation and regulatory changes affecting payroll.· Ensure compliance with internal payroll guidelines and procedures.· Prepare reports as needed, summarizing earnings, hours, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.· Participates in related audits, such as 401k and benefit audits, full financial audits, and DCAA audits · Protect personally identifiable information within the payroll department.· Participate in training and development to enhance payroll knowledge and skills.· Perform additional duties and projects assigned.· Supports PTi's QMS, Safety, Environmental, and Security Programs, and other Company certifications and initiatives Qualifications:Experience:· Some experience in payroll processing is preferred, but not required.· Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.Skills:· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.· Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.· Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.· Basic mathematical skills and the ability to follow written instructions.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, etc.:· Ability to complete any required company training.· Valid Driver's License.Education:· High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.PTi maintains a drug-free workplace and conducts pre-employment and random substance abuse testing, along with background verification checks.
