Position: Payroll & Benefits Audit Analyst
Pay: $40-43/hr
Location: Deerfield, IL (3 Days On-site, 2 Days Remote)
Job Description:
As a Payroll & Benefits Audit Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing payroll contributions, files, and submissions to various benefits vendors. The primary focus of this role will be to ensure accurate data matching, identify discrepancies, and resolve any errors in payroll or benefits submissions. Strong proficiency in Excel, especially in sorting, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP, is required. A background in finance or accounting is ideal, though experience from an HR perspective is also valuable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit payroll contributions and vendor submissions to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Utilize advanced Excel skills (sorting, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) to compare and match data across multiple systems
- Identify discrepancies or errors in payroll and benefits data, investigate root causes, and collaborate with relevant teams to correct them
- Work closely with the supervisor overseeing this audit, to ensure the audit is on track and aligned with company objectives
- Provide detailed reporting and analysis as necessary to support the audit process
- Ensure that audit and corrections are completed by year-end
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Background in finance, accounting, or HR, with experience working with payroll data and benefits submissions
- Analytical thinker with attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot discrepancies
- Experience with payroll audits, vendor submissions, or benefits administration is a plus
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
