Well-established and prominent not-for-profit in Albany, NY area is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join its growing team. Your profile should include:
- 2+ years of processing high volume payroll
- Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, garnishments, balancing, and tax regulations
- Have some general understanding of GAAP accounting
- Proficiency with Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Reviewing and processing bi-weekly payrolls for over 500 diverse employees
- Uploading and auditing timesheets, adding garnishments and third-party sick pay, maintaining 401k loans and accruals, validating changes and working with managers to resolve any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with HR in maintaining and reviewing employee data, paid time off balances/accruals, 401k, profit sharing, and benefit deductions.
- Act as the resource for payroll issues by understanding payroll and tax regulations, and accounting principles.
- Process employee expense reports
- Create journal entries for payrolls, 401k, profit sharing, expense reports, vacation accruals, etc.
