Job Summary:
Our company is seeking a Payroll Assistant to help with our payroll operations. This is primarily a data entry position, so you will be responsible for entering payroll information into our software, garnishing wages when necessary, and ensuring paychecks go out on time. Our ideal applicant has payroll experience and familiarity with various administrative software programs, including Microsoft Outlook, and invoicing applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enter payroll information into our software.
- Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.
- Calculate bonuses and commissions when appropriate.
- Prepare employee's checks and/or direct deposits.
- Issue invoices and maintain records.
- Make changes related to tax withholding.
- Garnish wages for taxes and benefits
- Deal with any questions regarding payroll issues and/or inquiries.
- Create reports and other payroll activities.
- Maintain records according to the designated filing.
- Communicate effectively with customers, staff, employees & third-party associates.
Requirements and Skills:
- Minimum of one year of proven experience as a Payroll Assistant
- Experience in data collection, entry, and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Math and numerical skills
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication abilities with an aptitude for problem-solving.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingual (Spanish & English) required.
- Experience with Microsoft such as Outlook, word, excel, etc.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday (Full time)
