HJF is seeking a Payroll Assistant to perform checks and audits on timekeeping records for compliance with established policies. Responsibilities include a variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities. This position will be in support of HJF's Payroll Department.
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
Responsibilities:- Reviews daily reports and queries for compliance with DCAA guidelines.
- Monitors time and attendance system for policy compliance.
- Maintains combo changes.
- Assists with preparation of payroll taxes and remittances.
- Keeps the Payroll Manager informed of significant matters on an ongoing basis. Consults with him/her on procedural changes. Makes minor corrections to keep documentation current.
- Maintains payroll related reports and files.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Education and Experience
- High School degree or GED required.
- Minimum of 0-2 years experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with computers and databases.
- Proficient with Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good customer service.
Work Environment
- This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
Compensation
- The hourly pay range for this position is $20.99-$28.85. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
