About the Position
The Payroll Associate helps manage the day-to-day function of the Payroll and Benefits Department. They are expected to be in the office each day, respond to calls, emails and walk-in from internal and external employees, and exhibit exceptional customer service and detailed work. This position reports to the Payroll and Benefits Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager
- Manage compensation packages using payroll software
- ·Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees
- ·Follow all IDoA and AUAF policies and procedures
- ·Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED and 2 years relevant work experience
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Pass state required background checks
- Bilingual in English and Assyrian
Preferred
- College degree or equivalent experience
- Speaks a second language
Training
- Complete IDoA required Homecare Supervisor Training (HOST) within 90 days of employment
- Complete 24 hours of in-service training on aging related subjects within each calendar year
- Complete additional training as assigned by AUAF management
Required Skills
- Knowledge with general accounting principles and payroll systems
- Experience in data collection, entry, and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service
- Superior organization and time management
- Aptitude for problem-solving
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 10lbs
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Operate office equipment (copier, fax, scanner, phone, computer)
- Extended periods of time on the phone, typing, and reading on a computer screen
