We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to join our Finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact within a growing organization that values teamwork, professional development, and innovation. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing full cycle payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws, and managing garnishments. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, including multi-state payroll.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the full cycle of payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of payroll to all employees across multiple states.
2. Maintain an in-depth understanding of local, state, and federal tax regulations and ensure that payroll operations are in compliance.
3. Handle garnishments, levies, and support orders, and coordinate with the legal team as necessary.
4. Reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies promptly and accurately.
5. Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management and meet any ad hoc reporting needs.
6. Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with other systems.
7. Stay updated on current regulations, industry trends, and best practices in payroll processing.
8. Participate in audits and assist with the development of procedures and controls to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the payroll system.
Qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, including multi-state payroll.
3. Proficient knowledge of payroll tax at the federal, state, and local levels.
4. Experience with garnishments and full cycle payroll.
5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
7. Proficient with payroll software and systems, as well as MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex payroll information to non-finance staff.
9. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with a strong work ethic, a high level of integrity, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
