Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our client’s team. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of payroll processes, and the ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll accurately and on time using payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, etc.).
- Timekeeping Management: Review and verify employee timecards, including hours worked, overtime, vacation, and sick leave, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Payroll Deductions: Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, garnishments, and other withholdings, in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- New Hire Onboarding: Process new hire paperwork, including W-4 forms, direct deposit authorizations, and other payroll-related documents.
- Payroll Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll transactions and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Reporting: Generate and distribute payroll reports to management and other stakeholders as needed, providing insights into payroll expenses and trends.
- Compliance: Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with tax filing requirements, wage and hour laws, and other relevant statutes.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records, including employee information, earnings, deductions, and tax filings.
- Customer Service: Provide support and assistance to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries, issues, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration or related role.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
