Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll via the payroll system
- Reviews the computation of pay, overtime and ensures its in compliance with company payroll policies
- Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks
- Coordinates and keeps track of payroll inquiries with external payroll provider
- Calculates and runs off-cycle paychecks
- Reviews, analyzes, and reconciles payroll and other payroll related data according to established timelines, standards, and procedures
- Performs payroll audits
- Submits Certified Payroll and monitors its compliance per state and per client
- Reviews and confirms correctness of employee timesheets/timecards
- Identifies process deficiencies, prevents inaccurate payroll entries and payroll processing delays by implementing additional protocols or rules
- Evaluates and makes recommendations for payroll process improvements
- Confirms employee retirement contributions, benefit accruals, overtime, and paid/unpaid time off
- Establishes new w/holding and SUI state accounts and follows up on compliance issues
- Performs state and local tax form entry and wage verifications
- Ensures all company, federal and state payroll compliance requirements are met
- Ensures employee reimbursable expenses are accurate and included in the appropriate pay cycle
- Ensures compliance to corporate policies and processes
- May perform other duties as assigned by Director of Finance
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field or 5+ years progressive payroll experience
- At minimum 2+ years' experience working on certified payroll projects, preferably in a construction business
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) is desired
- iSolved payroll experience is a plus
