Payroll/Accounting Specialist I - Nooter Construction

About the Job
Summary: To calculate and process payroll, taxes, and union reporting. Accounts Payable invoice distribution, entry, and daily mail distribution.
Reports to: Controller
Responsibilities:
Enter and process timesheets/payroll/adjustments/layoffs/certified payroll, and reclasses for NCC Field Service, Electrical, and Boiler Groups.
Process new hire paperwork, tracking and updating job numbers, phase codes, and work orders. Employment verifications.
Process daily invoices received via email and mail, key into system so they can be routed to Project Manager for approval. Distribute invoices to other locations for approvals, distribute company received mail, and AR receivable calls on past due accounts.
Required knowledge:
- Must possess 2+ years of prior work experience involving payroll processing and reporting in multiple jurisdictions with multiple sites.
- Must possess 2+ years of prior work experience using a computerized payroll system.
- Must possess 2+ years of prior work experience reporting union fringes.
- Prior experience processing multi-state construction payroll, union reporting, and payroll tax reporting is preferred.
Skills and abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Viewpoint Construction Software experience preferred.
- Must be able to think critically and methodically.
Formal education/experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience.
