We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Payroll Accountant Specialist. The Payroll Accountant Specialist will primarily be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in payroll-related activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processing systems and procedures, possess excellent analytical skills, and have an exceptional attention to detail.
Salary Range: $50000.00 - $80000.00 per year

Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Verify and review employee timesheets, ensuring accuracy and clarifying any discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain employee payroll records in an organized and up-to-date manner, including tax deductions, benefits, and retirement contributions.
- Prepare and distribute employee paychecks, ensuring proper tax withholding, deductions, and record keeping.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll data to identify and correct discrepancies or errors.
- Keep up-to-date on changes in payroll laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary adjustments to payroll processes.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports, including W-2s, quarterly reports, and year-end filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Develop and implement effective payroll policies and procedures.
- Various reconciliations and month-end closing tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of payroll processing systems, software, and procedures.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll accounting or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws, regulations, and tax codes.
- Proficient in using payroll software and other relevant tools (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, Excel).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating independence and self-motivation.
- High ethical standards and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
