Job Summary
Transports patients and equipment throughout the Hospitals and Clinics.
Job Duties
+ Transports patients, belongings and deceased to and from assigned departments.
+ Assists floor staff to ready patients for transport.
+ Transports specific patient related equipment and beds to requesting departments.
+ Utilizes technology system for various equipment deliveries.
+ Enters rental equipment into the appropriate software when needed.
+ Assists with wheelchair management by identifying those for cleaning and repair.
+ Transports wheelchairs to Central Sterile for cleaning and to ISS for repairs.
+ Maintains wheelchair availability in assigned staging locations.
+ Receive assignments by calling into the Transport Tracker XT Program for movement of Patients and Equipment.
+ Properly identifies patient prior to transport and assures that patient has an identification.
+ Assists patients in and out of vehicles and transport equipment.
+ Interacts with patients in a professional manner, avoiding idle conversation that excludes the patient.
+ Collaborates with other healthcare team members to facilitate patient care and services.
+ Maintains eye contact, acknowledges and greets patient, and communicates the transport destination to the patient.
