Responsibilities
Lead Responsibilities
- Ensure staff are providing excellent customer service
- Provide oversight of front desk staff, be a resource to assist with PSR duties and questions
- Responsible for checking patients in for appointments, verifying demographic and insurance information, collecting payments, scheduling appointments, identifying and communicating to the patient needed clinical services
- Facilitate the flow of patients from the front to the back office, ensuring patients are in exam room on a timely basis
- Show support to the staff and ensure the following is being completed
- Ensure all PSR’s are using Well 100% of the time
- Ensure all PSR’s are running Pointcare for ALL SFS patients 100% of the time, and referring to CEC
- Ensure all PSR’s are jockeying the schedules
- Ensure department is printing gaps in care reports 100% of the time for all patients
- Monitor patient schedules and ensure that all appointments slots are booked
- Decrease the number of voided encounters
- Following up and scheduling of no shows, cancellations appointments per policy
- PCP continuity-schedule to improve
- Completion of chart prep and collecting accurate demographic information
Greet and respond to limited inquiries from patients and customers in a professional manner. Perform a variety of clerical functions.
- Greet patients in-person and via telephone
- Verify insurance eligibility and copy insurance cards
- Perform financial and eligibility screening for clinic programs
- Print daily schedule and confirm next day’s appointments
- Complete appropriate paperwork as needed for patients: school excuses, Head Start forms, etc.
- Make follow-up appointments for referrals from other sites
- Call, reschedule and mail letters to all N/S patients
- Responsible for patients checking in through completing encounters, personal records forms, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum
• High school graduate or equivalent • Minimum three years’ medical/dental office experience • Minimum one year experience in insurance billing in a medical/dental setting • Bilingual English/Spanish
Preferred
- Minimum one year supervisory or lead experience
Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Experience/familiarity with Practice Management and Electronic Dental Records systems, NextGen preferred
- Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner
- Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Ability to type minimum 35 WPM
Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Experience/familiarity with Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records systems, NextGen preferred
- Experience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products, business e-mail communication systems and internet search capabilities
Pay Range
- $23.00 - $25.00 DOE
