Position Summary: The Patient Services Representative I plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience for patient-families at CHLA. Responsibilities include performing clerical tasks such as answering incoming calls, registration, patient check-in/out procedures, and collecting patient co-pays or deductibles. Additionally, the role involves scheduling and verifying patient appointments, checking in/registering patients for Radiology outpatient visits at two hospital locations, answering phones, and directing calls. Other duties include placing patients in the patient tracking system, verifying insurance eligibility and demographics, capturing relevant data for entry into STAR, activating orders in KIDs, assisting in creating accounts for financial counselors, and providing excellent, friendly customer service to patients and families.
Minimum Qualifications: 1-year experience in medical front office setting.
The Ideal Candidate will possess:
- Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to remain calm under pressure, working effectively as part of a team.
- Superior customer service skills are essential, along with a friendly demeanor and a willingness to assist others; it's important to avoid adopting a mindset where certain tasks are considered outside of one's responsibilities.
- The ability to multitask is crucial, including tasks such as printing documents from KIDS or STAR, providing wristbands to families, and being comfortable with technology, including computers and iPads, for the registration process.
- Excellent telephone manner and ability to deal effectively with the public.
- Basic knowledge of computers, filing and organizational skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: High school diploma or GED required

Thursday 10:00am-6:30pm
