Hours vary throughout the week (ex: M 8a-4:30p, T 7:30a-4p, W 8a-4:30p, Th 12p-8:30p F 8:30a-5p)
One evening shift per week is required to be worked by all employees.
Saturdays are on a rotation - approximately 1 Saturday every 5-8 weeks.
Schedule for Saturday - 830a-1230p
Summary:
Summary: The Patient Services Representative (PSR) will work collaboratively with other hospital services, medical staff, and administration to ensure that quality patient care is delivered. Actively participates in the quality of care delivered to patients and participates in departmental QC and performance improvement activities. MUST have Epic experience and experience verifying insurances. Please list the other portals (i.e. Pear, Availity, Navinet, United Healthcare, OneSource, PATS) used for verifying insurance.
Job Description:
Answers telephones
verifies personal information with patients
verifies eligibility and benefits and obtains authorizations/per-certifications
Collects copays
Communicates with insurance companies to ensure CPT and ICD codes are utilized
Scans paperwork in EHR
Assumes role of scheduler (as needed)
Education: HS graduate or equivalent
Experience: Knowledge of patient registration and experience with insurance verification, demonstrated ability to interact effectively and professionally within the work group (personnel, physicians, patients, families, and vendors), familiar with medical terminology and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Highly organized and efficient work habits. Good problem solving and planning skills.
PREVIOUS PATIENT SERVICE EXPERIENCE.
Education: HS graduate or equivalent.
