Strive! Physical Therapy is Ocala's leading physical therapy provider, and our teams are dedicated to the communities we serve and to delivering an exceptional patient experience in a welcoming, positive, and helpful environment. This position goes above and beyond the normal duties of a secretary or receptionist.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Warmly greet every patient with eye contact, a smile, and a positive statement.
- Manage all incoming calls, monitor daily changes of schedules and procedures to arrange appointments over the phone or in person, showing empathy for patients’ needs and limitations.
- Attentively register new and existing patients as they arrive, offering them information as necessary to ensure they know what to expect during their visit.
- Prepares documentation for patients in FOTO.
- Conduct insurance authorizations and verifications; collect co-pays from patients. Balance front cash drawer daily, and other functions to assure front office runs smoothly.
- Report no call no-show and cancellation of patients.
- Offer a fond farewell, providing any pertinent information about their next appointment.
- Respond to requests for information from patients, providers, and coworkers in a timely manner and with a positive attitude.
- Team player who is committed to excellence by assisting peers with general clinic maintenance and upkeep.
- Review faxes, access the secure messaging, and the company system to process and update records in a timely manner.
- Prepare copies of medical records, discharges, and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Filing documentation and plans of care along with other clerical tasks.
- Other duties as assigned by the billing manager.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, Joint Commission and Hospital Compliance Plan.
- Maintains cooperative working relationship and good rapport with Medical Staff, hospital departments and staff and other organizations or entities related to hospital business.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the organization at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to communicate with all constituents (patients, families, peers, and other healthcare team members) clearly and effectively as needed for leadership, assessment, intervention, and professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 1-year front desk experience, and/or
- Minimum of 1-year medical office experience.
- Experience with insurance verification program or rehab hospital, preferred.
EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
